Teachers
All Peninsula Sweat Your Prayers teachers are certified 5Rhythms® instructors
Sylvie has taught weekly 5Rhythms® classes and workshops since 2000. She has studied psychology, indigenous healing rituals, energy medicine, and sound healing.
Sylvie is often described as a catalytic shape-shifter because of her ability to meet people right where they are and move with them into new possibilities. You can learn more about Sylvie's work at syzygydanceproject.org
Tom has been teaching the 5Rhythms® in Santa Cruz and the Bay Area since 2014, bringing a deep passion for movement and transformation. With a rich background in bodywork, breathwork, and primal therapy, he creates a holistic and nurturing space for participants to explore their rhythms.
To Tom, the Dance is a transformative path that can heal and awaken the artist within, revealing the potential for a more creatively fulfilling life. Learn more about Tom's work at tomtrumandance.com
Steffi enjoys the immense freedom of the 5Rhythms® as a dance form without choreography. Since 2015, she has relied on the practice for meditation, self-reflection, body positivity, connection, experimentation, and creative expression.
In her teaching, Steffi seeks to tangibly connect the 5Rhythms® practice to everyday life, and to hold a space in which dancers can attune to their bodies' intuition.
Tess Howell is a 5Rhythms teacher, a SomaSourceDance Rites of Passage Facilitator, a Spirit Rock Dharma Yoga Teacher, a 360 Emergence Apprentice Leader and is Operations Director at the School of Lost Borders. She is the founder of Wild Moves and has been leading outdoor dances in areas of outstanding beauty since 2012 (www.wildmoves.org)
Tess relishes and cherishes space, sky, sea and stillness. She finds refuge in dance, the dharma, badass basslines and beautiful boots.
Producers
Far beyond providing a fun workout and amazing stress relief, practicing the 5Rhythms® has helped Dora connect deeply to herself, others, and Source. The practice resources have helped her navigate the chaos and embrace the beauty of life.
With immense gratitude for the dance, she is inspired to bring it to her home - the Peninsula. Dora hopes to build a strong and healthy community of dancers and teachers. This is a labor of love.
