Summer classes will be held on the 2nd & 4th Sundays through August. Weekly classes resume in September. See you on the floor!
Sylvie has taught weekly 5Rhythms® classes and workshops since 2000. She has studied psychology, indigenous healing rituals, energy medicine, and sound healing.
Sylvie is often described as a catalytic shape-shifter because of her ability to meet people right where they are and move with them into new possibilities. You can learn more about Sylvie's work at syzygydanceproject.org
Taisiya (pronounced Ta-‘ee-see’ya) was introduced to conscious dance in 2011 and hasn't stopped dancing since. Movement practice has become one of her main teachers.
Taisiya believes movement practice has incredible potential for tapping into the wisdom of our bodies. She has been facilitating Open Floor dances since completing teacher training in 2019. She is also a registered dietitian and most of her work is in outpatient nutrition counseling.
Join Taisiya for a playful and fun inquiry through movement. While conscious dance is not a panacea for everything, two things are certain - you’ll get to freely move your body and learn something new each time you step on the dance floor.
Qibei is a 5Rhythms® teacher, holistic healer, and Marriage and Family Psychotherapist trainee. She moves between worlds: the clinical and the mystical, the tender and the fierce, the silent knowing of the bones and the unspeakable beauty of Spirit cracking open.
Dance, for her, is prayer, medicine, and a creative laboratory. Her work invites people out of numbness and into their own raw aliveness, where the wild heart remembers itself. In her movement classes, Qibei creates a trauma-sensitive, inclusive place for all bodies. She teaches 5Rhythms and leads Women's Circle in Berkeley, CA. (www.qibei.be)
Steffi enjoys the immense freedom of the 5Rhythms® as a dance form without choreography. Since 2015, she has relied on the practice for meditation, self-reflection, body positivity, connection, experimentation, and creative expression.
In her teaching, Steffi seeks to tangibly connect the 5Rhythms® practice to everyday life, and to hold a space in which dancers can attune to their bodies' intuition.
Tess Howell is a 5Rhythms® teacher, a SomaSourceDance Rites of Passage Facilitator, a Spirit Rock Dharma Yoga Teacher, a 360 Emergence Apprentice Leader and is Operations Director at the School of Lost Borders. She is the founder of Wild Moves and has been leading outdoor dances in areas of outstanding beauty since 2012 (www.wildmoves.org)
Tess relishes and cherishes space, sky, sea and stillness. She finds refuge in dance, the dharma, badass basslines and beautiful boots.
Practicing conscious dance has helped Dora connect deeply to herself, others, and Source. The practice serves as a compass as she navigates the chaos and embraces the beauty of life.
With immense gratitude for the dance, Dora is inspired to deepen her practice by bringing it to her Peninsula neighbors. Dora hopes to build a strong and healthy community of dancers and teachers. She is a trained movement facilitator.
